At Zymo Research, we believe in empowering scientists to push the boundaries of discovery. This year, we are excited to introduce the winners of the 2024 Omics Discovery Grant, whose innovative projects continue to expand the utility of RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq) and hold the potential to deepen our insight into the world, its living beings, and the underlying principles of numerous areas. These dedicated researchers were selected from a competitive pool of hundreds of applicants worldwide, representing a diverse range of institutions, expertise, and groundbreaking scientific pursuits.
Advancing Science for a Brighter Future
The Omics Discovery Grant was established to support researchers at the forefront of transcriptomics studies. This year’s winners are addressing diverse and critical topics, from advancing molecular microbiology and tackling antimicrobial resistance to investigating the epigenetic dynamics in vision loss and exploring the ecological and public health impacts of climate change on envenomation interactions. Each winner’s research is contributing to the global understanding of gene regulation, disease mechanisms, and environmental adaptation, with the shared goal of unraveling the complexities of biology to drive scientific innovation for a better tomorrow.
Our winners will receive Zymo Research’s comprehensive RNA-Seq workflow, including the RiboFree Total RNA Library Kit, paired-end sequencing on Illumina platforms, data analysis through the Aladdin Bioinformatics Platform, and a $2,000 credit for RNA-Seq sample preparation technologies. With this support, they’ll be able to accelerate their research and make significant strides in elucidating the diverse and complex roles of RNA across a wide breadth of scientific fields.
